  • Ragdolls are large, fluffy and gentle cats known for their sweet temperament and laid back personality. They are often featured in commercials and on pet product packaging due to their beautiful appearance. The name “ragdoll” comes from their tendency to go limp when picked up

  • Ragdolls were developed in the 1960s by Ann Baker, who crossed a Persian with Birman and Burmese cats. The objective was to develop a new type of cat that was docile, gentle, and large, with color points on its head, nose, ears, legs, an tail.

  • Traditional Ragdolls all have blue eyes, but mixed Ragdolls can have green or golden eyes. This is because the gene for blue eyes is recessive, meaning that both parents must have the gene for blue eyes in order for the kittens to have blue eyes. If one or both parents do not have blue eyes, the kittens will have green or golden eyes.

  • The cost of raising a kitten from birth to 12 weeks is high, so a healthy, socialized ragdoll kitten from a quality cattery should range between $1,200 and $3,000. Anything less is a red flag. It is important to do ample research and read many reviews from any breeder you may be considering purchasing from, as scammers are rampant and often go so far as to steal photographs and launch websites selling sick or non-existent kittens.

  • Ask the breeder about their breeding practices. Do they health test their cats? Do they socialize their kittens?

Visit the breeder's facility. Is it clean and well-kept? Do the cats seem healthy and happy?

Ask to see the kitten's parents. This will give you an idea of what the kitten will look like when it grows up.

Get everything in writing. This includes the purchase price, the health guarantee, and the contract for spaying or neutering.

By following these tips, you can increase your chances of finding a healthy, happy ragdoll kitten from a reputable breeder!

  • A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to reserve a kitten. The deposit is deducted from the price of the kitten you select. If you place a deposit to reserve a kitten then change your mind for any reason, the deposit can be transferable.

  • Kittens can leave for their new home when they are 12 weeks of age.
